In March 2025, Empower My Kayin Organization, in collaboration with the Pay Sat Thu Emergency Rescue and Joint Blood Donation Association, successfully carried out a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activity for March. Recognizing the need for reliable lighting in underdeveloped areas within Kayin State, and focusing on regions with limited government electricity access, we donated LED solar street lights to the Pa Kone new ward in Hpa-An Township, Hla Ka village. This particular neighborhood faces annual flooding where the water level exceeds the waist of an average woman. This initiative aims to enhance safety and security for the community, improve the living environment, and elevate the overall quality of life.
Addressing Critical Needs
These neighborhoods are home to approximately 500 residents, most of whom are daily wage laborers. Access to government electricity in these areas is very limited, causing difficulties for residents navigating at night due to the lack of lighting.
For young children, the absence of light also significantly hinders their ability to study at night. Furthermore, the elderly and those with mobility issues face increased risks when walking on the streets after dark.
Understanding these circumstances, the members of Empower My Kayin Organization took action to install and donate solar streetlights in key locations within these communities.
The installation of solar-powered streetlights has yielded significant benefits:
- Safer Commuting – Damaged and narrow roads, coupled with darkness, previously increased the risk of slips, falls, and traffic accidents at night. With the aid of these streetlights, commuting has become safer and more convenient for the residents.
- Environmental Benefits – Operating on solar power, these lights contribute to environmental conservation.

Continuing Efforts for Community Development
In addition to these donations, the members of Empower My Kayin Organization will continue to focus on education, health, and environmental conservation. In the future, we will strive to further donate to areas with genuine needs across various sectors (including schools and hospitals).
This donation aims to improve the living standards of the villagers and provide environmentally friendly support. We extend our sincere gratitude to the Pay Sat Thu Rescue Emergency Rescue and Joint Philanthropic Blood Donation Association for their collaboration in making our donation a success, and to the dedicated members of Empower My Kayin Organization for their active participation and support. Empower My Kayin Organization remains committed to continuing its best efforts to address the primary needs of townships and villages within Kayin State in the future.
